Ceasefire Violations by Pakistan Trigger Blackouts Across Multiple Kutch Districts

Ahmedabad: Following renewed ceasefire violations by the Pakistani military, blackout protocols have been reimposed in several Indian districts where restrictions had earlier been lifted. Reports indicate that Pakistan has resumed cross-border shelling and drone attacks in various regions of India, prompting authorities to enforce complete blackouts, particularly in Jammu, as a precautionary measure.

In Gujarat, reports confirm that blackout measures have been reinstated in the districts of Kutch and Banaskantha. Gujarat Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi, stated that drone sightings were reported in several parts of Kutch, leading the administration to impose a district-wide blackout. He also urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities. In Banaskantha, at least 24 villages have reportedly been placed under blackout orders. In Jammu and Kashmir, complete blackouts have been enforced in Katra and Bhawan as part of heightened security protocols.

In Punjab, blackouts have been reintroduced in Pathankot and Gurdaspur. Warning sirens were sounded in Bathinda in response to the threat of aerial attacks. Fazilka district experienced a blackout starting at 9:30 PM. Furthermore, Barnala and Sangrur districts underwent blackouts from 9 PM to 11 PM. In Ludhiana, the District Collector has issued an appeal for voluntary compliance with blackout guidelines.

Amid escalating tensions, residents of Balotra in Rajasthan were instructed to stay indoors and adhere strictly to blackout procedures. The district administration urged citizens to remain alert and follow all safety measures, including switching off all lights and avoiding outdoor movement. A complete blackout has also been enforced in Jaisalmer district.

These preventive actions come in response to increased hostilities from across the border, aimed at ensuring civilian safety and maintaining national security.
