Bus Carrying Kedarnath Pilgrims From Gujarat Overturns In Uttarakhand: 3 Seriously Injured, 15 Sustained Minor Injuries

Ahmedabad: A private bus transporting 35 pilgrims from Gujarat to Kedarnath overturned on the Tehri-Ghansali motor road in Uttarakhand, leaving 18 people injured, three of them seriously, including a woman and a child.

The accident occurred near Daba Khale Naame Toke, approximately 1.5 kilometers beyond Tipri, when the driver reportedly lost control of the speeding vehicle on the hilly terrain. The sudden overturn triggered panic among passengers, many of whom were thrown from their seats as the bus toppled. Out of the 35 passengers, 15 have sustained minor injuries, while 3 including a woman, a child and a man have sustained serious injuries.

Local residents rushed to the scene, providing immediate assistance to the injured and alerting emergency services. A 108 ambulance service transported the seriously injured passengers to the Primary Health Centre in Nandgaon. The remaining injured pilgrims, who suffered minor injuries, also received prompt medical attention.

Rescue operations were swiftly carried out by police and relief teams, who helped evacuate passengers and secure the area. Authorities are currently monitoring the condition of all those involved.

According to police officials, the pilgrims had begun their journey three days earlier from Haridwar as part of the Char Dham Yatra and were en route to Kedarnath when the incident occurred.

An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
