The police captured the anti-social elements who were creating havoc in the area near Shashwat Society in Vastral. The nine accused were terrorising people with sticks and dangerous weapons like swords on Thursday night. They have been arrested by Ramol police, and on Friday, the police flogged them publicly.
Within 24 hours of the incident, the government took the decision to initiate bulldozer action on the illegal constructions of all accused. AMC officials and the police commissioner, along with other police personnel came to the scene.
The authorities have started the process of bulldozing the illegal property of the accused in this incident. The authorities reached the house of the accused Rajveer Singh Bihola with a police convoy. Before the bulldozer was rolled, the belongings were taken out of the house. In addition, the house of Shyam Kamle at Bhagwandas ni Chaali in Khokhra has been demolished with a hammer. In order to break the confidence of the accused, they were made to do sit-ups at the spot.
The police commissioner informed that the accused created an atmosphere of fear by vandalising on a public road in Ramol. Pankaj Bhavsar, one of the accused, has a criminal history and has been apprehended under PASA in the past. Out of the 14 accused, 1 is juvenile. Moreover, the houses of 7 of the accused are illegally constructed. As a result, bulldozer action has been initiated on their houses.
Police also warned about taking strict actions if such incidences occur in the future.
