Bhavnagar Man Dies by Suicide in Maharashtra, Leaps From Konkan Kada at Harishchandragad

A man from Bhavnagar, Gujarat, died by suicide by jumping into a deep gorge from the Konkankada cliff at Harishchandragad in Maharashtra’s Ahmednagar district. Before doing so, he recorded a video saying he was ending his life because of a case under Section 498 and demanding a change in the law over the misuse of such provisions against men.

The deceased has been identified as Vishwarajsinh Mayursinh Gohil, a resident of the Chitra area of Bhavnagar and a native of Rajpara (Thadach).

13-minute video recorded before the jump

According to available details, Gohil left home on his bike on October 9 after attending court proceedings and then reached Harishchandragad in Ahmednagar district. He recorded a 13-minute video before jumping from the Konkankada cliff into the gorge.

In the video, he spoke with anger and distress. “If you have a son and do not want to ruin his future, share this video and change the law. 498 cases take people’s lives,” he said.

Local Kakenwada police reached the spot on receiving information and carried out rescue work. Police registered a case of accidental death and, after completing the necessary procedures, sent the body to Bhavnagar.

Domestic dispute and court proceedings

Gohil had married Dharaba Sarvaiya on February 8, 2026. Following domestic discord and differences during the marriage, his wife filed a domestic violence complaint with the police on September 12, on the basis of which police began an inquiry.

Meanwhile, Gohil went to his in-laws’ home at Anjani City in Kaliyabid for talks and, in a fit of anger, cut a vein in his hand. His father-in-law submitted a complaint about the incident at Nilambag police station.

The incident has left Bhavnagar and the Rajpara area in deep shock and mourning.
