Dwarka, August 15, 2025 – As excitement builds for Janmashtami celebrations, throngs of devotees are descending on Dwarka to join in Lord Krishna’s birth festival. But for those unable to make the pilgrimage, cybercriminals are laying traps with deceptive schemes. One mobile app is falsely claiming it can deliver prasadam from Lord Dwarkadhish’s birthday festivities right to your doorstep – a claim swiftly debunked by temple authorities.
The “Ghar Mandir” App’s Misleading Claims
According to details shared by the Shri Dwarkadhish Temple Trust, an app named “Ghar Mandir” is promoting the idea that users can receive prasadam from the ongoing Janmashtami events in Dwarka via online payment and home delivery. However, the temple trust has clarified that this is entirely fraudulent. They urge devotees to avoid placing trust in such unauthorized mobile apps or websites and to stay vigilant against these scams.
Temple Trust Rejects the Hoax
In a statement, the trust explained that all daily offerings and prasadam for the deity are prepared exclusively in the temple’s bhog bhandar under the guidance of appointed priests and hereditary representatives. Once offered to the Lord, the prasadam is distributed solely within the temple premises. Devotees can officially book naivedya (offerings) only through the temple’s authorized website. The trust has categorically refuted any other claims related to external distribution or delivery.
Final Preparations Underway for Krishna’s Birthday Bash
Dwarka is gearing up for a grand celebration of Lord Krishna’s birth on Saturday, with preparations now in their final stages. Enthusiasm among devotees is palpable, drawing large crowds to the city. In response, local police have ramped up security measures, focusing on key areas like Gomti Ghat and Jagat Mandir. To enhance surveillance, authorities are even deploying drones to ensure a safe and smooth event for all.
