AMTS Launches Special Temple Tour Service For Shravan Month

Ahmedabad: With the arrival of the holy month of Shravan, the Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS) has announced a special religious bus service to facilitate temple visits for devotees across the city. The service will operate daily throughout the month, covering up to 29 prominent temples.

As part of the initiative, AMTS will offer door-to-door pick-up and drop-off, making it easier for citizens to participate in group temple tours, as per the reports. Each tour will include visits to 8 to 10 temples in a single day.

Bookings for the service can be made at four key terminals: Lal Darwaja, Sarangpur, Vadaj, and Maninagar. However, the popular Trimandir in Adalaj has been excluded from the route due to heavy traffic and parking constraints in the area.

To support the religious tours without disrupting routine services, AMTS has allocated 80 additional buses exclusively for Shravan. These buses will operate daily, with departures scheduled at 8:15 AM and returns by 4:45 PM.

The service is available to residents within the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) limits at a charge of ₹3,000 per bus. Residents outside AMC limits will be charged ₹5,000. Required documents include a copy of the property tax bill and payment receipt. Each bus can accommodate 30 passengers, with a maximum capacity of 40.

Last year, during Shravan and Adhik Shravan, AMTS operated over 1,000 such tours, with nearly one lakh citizens benefiting from the initiative. AMTS officials have urged citizens to take advantage of the service this year as well.
