AMC Demolishes Illegal Properties Of History Sheeters In Juhapura

Ahmedabad: In a move against illegal encroachments by individuals with criminal backgrounds, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) launched a demolition drive in the Juhapura area today. As part of this operation, properties linked to known history-sheeters were razed to the ground under tight police security.

One of the key demolitions targeted an illegally constructed house belonging to Nazir Vora, a known offender with a long criminal history. The structure, known as “Zubeda House,” was spread across 368 square meters and included a ground floor and a first-floor bungalow. The AMC’s South-West Zone estate department led the demolition, citing violations of building regulations.

Vora, who is involved in more than 20 criminal cases registered across various police stations including Vejalpur and Sarkhej, faces serious charges such as murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, extortion, assault, and illegal land acquisition. Officials emphasized that the demolition was part of a broader crackdown on land mafias and unauthorized constructions across Ahmedabad.

In a parallel operation, the AMC also moved against another illegal property in the same locality. A bulldozer was deployed at a 168-square-meter residential structure belonging to Ahmedbhai Bapubhai Kureshi, alias Sarfaraz Kitli, located in Ahesan Park near Sonal Crossroads, Juhapura. This structure, too, included both ground and first floors and was demolished amid heavy police presence.

Both demolitions are part of AMC’s intensified efforts to reclaim public land and dismantle illegal properties associated with criminal elements in the city.
