Air India to launch New Bhuj–Mumbai Flight From October 26; Here’s the Schedule

Bhuj: After a long-standing demand, Air India has announced a new flight service connecting Bhuj, the district headquarters of Kutch, with Mumbai, the country’s financial capital. The new service will begin on October 26, bringing cheer to residents and travelers alike.

More convenience for travelers ahead of festive season
The announcement comes just ahead of Diwali and the Rann Utsav, offering additional convenience for tourists visiting Kutch. The new evening flight will particularly benefit international travelers, who will now spend less time waiting for connecting flights at Mumbai airport. With multiple airline services now operating to and from Bhuj, the once-quiet airport is becoming increasingly busy.

Flight schedule from October 26
According to Air India’s official schedule, the new service will start on October 26. The flight will depart from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (Terminal 2) at 1:50 PM and arrive in Bhuj at 3:20 PM. The return flight will take off from Bhuj at 4:00 PM and land in Mumbai by 5:25 PM. Until now, only a morning flight operated on the Bhuj–Mumbai route, which often ran at full capacity. With the addition of this evening service, travelers will have a more flexible travel option between the two cities.

Some concerns over airfare
According to tour operators, passengers traveling to destinations like London, Nairobi, the US, and Canada previously had to wait long hours at Mumbai Airport for connecting flights. This new schedule will reduce the waiting time significantly. Moreover, with the morning flight from Mumbai departing at 6:30 AM, passengers had to reach the airport in the early hours, which often caused inconvenience.

However, high ticket prices could pose a minor challenge. Currently, the new evening flight is priced between ₹8,000 and ₹9,000, while the morning flight ranges from ₹12,000 to ₹15,000. Operators feel that stabilizing fares will make the new service even more beneficial to travelers.
