The video recording of the incident had gone viral. Following the incident, legal action has been taken against the man. On Monday (July 14), Gujarat High Court slapped a fine of Rs 1 lakh on the man for doing the shameful act.
A two-judge bench informed that the man, identified as Samad Abdul Rehman, engaged in a behavior that was obstinate and in contempt of court. Apart from this, the court is also considering to sentence him to jail.
On the other hand, Samad Abdul Rehman admitted to his behavior during the virtual hearing. The court has therefore directed him to deposit Rs 1 lakh before the court registry before the next hearing takes place. The next hearing is scheduled on July 22.
The incident had occurred on June 20, when a virtual court hearing of the bench of Justice Nirzar S Desai was taking place, during which a man had reportedly participated in the proceedings while being seated on a toilet seat and relieving himself.
