Ahmedabad Crime Branch Arrests Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Member In Rath Yatra Security Checks

Ahmedabad: In a significant move to enhance security ahead of the upcoming Rath Yatra, the Ahmedabad Crime Branch has arrested a member of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The arrested individual, Manoj Salvi, is a key figure in the criminal network and has 12 criminal cases filed against him. He was previously detained in connection with the murder and conspiracy case of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi.
Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the president of the Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, was tragically shot and killed in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on December 5, 2023. In a brazen daylight attack, assailants fired on Gogamedi and fled the scene. Despite being rushed to Metro Mass Hospital, he was declared dead. During the incident, one of the attackers was shot and killed by Gogamedi’s security guard.
Following the murder, gangster Rohit Godara took to social media to claim responsibility for the assassination, stating, “Ram-Ram brothers, we got Sukhdev Gogamedi killed today. He used to support our enemies and work with them to strengthen them. Anyone aligned with our enemies should be prepared, as we will meet them soon.”
Gogamedi, known for his influential role within the Rajput community, had founded the Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena after a split from the original Karni Sena over internal disagreements. His leadership was marked by strong, passionate speeches, and he gained significant popularity, especially among the youth in Rajasthan.
Before his tragic death, Gogamedi had a history of legal issues. In 2017, he faced serious accusations of rape and coercion from a woman in Hanumangarh district. The allegations claimed he had assaulted her multiple times. However, after a thorough investigation, the case was dismissed as false, and no charges were filed against him.
The arrest of Salvi highlights the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to disrupt the operations of the Bishnoi gang, a criminal organization involved in numerous illegal activities across the region.
