A bizarre video capturing a man attending a virtual Gujarat High Court hearing from a bathroom has taken social media by storm.
The incident, which unfolded on June 20 before Justice Nirzar S Desai, gained widespread attention after legal news outlet Bar and Bench shared the footage online.
In the clip, the man, identified as “Samad Battery,” first appeared in a tight close-up, sporting Bluetooth earphones around his neck. Moments later, the camera panned to reveal he was seated on a toilet. The footage then showed him appearing to wipe himself before leaving the bathroom and reappearing on-screen from what seemed to be another room.
According to Bar and Bench, court records indicate the man was the original complainant in a case involving the dismissal of a First Information Report (FIR). He participated as a respondent in the hearing. The court ultimately quashed the FIR after both parties confirmed they had reached a mutual settlement.
The video has sparked a flood of reactions across social media, with many users slamming the man’s lack of courtroom decorum, while others responded with humor to mask their second-hand embarrassment.
