The wait for fresh glimpses of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the sequel to Aditya Dhar’s blockbuster Dhurandhar, ended with the release of its teaser online. However, audiences expressed disappointment, as the footage largely comprised repurposed clips from the end-credits sequence of the original film, featuring Ranveer Singh with co-stars Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and R Madhavan. Notably absent were any new scenes, including Vicky Kaushal’s speculated cameo or Akshaye Khanna’s anticipated flashback sequences as Rehman Dakait.
Amid the mixed reactions, one significant update has emerged to spark renewed interest: reports indicate that actor Yami Gautam will appear in a special cameo role. According to a source cited by Pinkvilla, Gautam’s part is described as intensely action-oriented and vital to the storyline. She has reportedly completed nearly five days of shooting for the sequence, which, despite its brief nature, is expected to deliver a powerful impact and surprise viewers.
This collaboration marks a professional reunion between Gautam and director Aditya Dhar, who are married. The pair first worked together on the 2019 nationalistic hit Uri: The Surgical Strike, during whose promotions their relationship reportedly began. In a past interview shortly after the first Dhurandhar film’s release, Gautam had expressed admiration for Dhar’s upcoming script, noting that it made her wish she could take on a male role to be part of it. She emphasized their commitment to keeping personal and professional boundaries separate, stating there were no expectations of working together and that they maintained a clear distinction in their respective spheres.
