Paresh Rawal, Anil Kapoor & Nana Patekar Set to Reunite in Welcome 4
The Welcome comedy franchise is preparing for yet another hilarious chapter, as Paresh Rawal, Anil Kapoor, and Nana Patekar are poised to reunite in Welcome 4.
According to reports published by The Times of India and Mid-day, scripting for the fourth installment is progressing in advanced stages under producer Firoz A. Nadiadwala and his writing team. The project will bring back the trio in their iconic roles: Nana Patekar as Uday Shetty, Anil Kapoor as Majnu Bhai, and Paresh Rawal as Dr. Ghungroo. The narrative promises a completely fresh storyline, with the characters integrated organically into new comedic situations.
While Paresh Rawal appears in the upcoming Welcome to the Jungle—the third film in the series, currently wrapping its final song shoot ahead of a theatrical release on June 26—he will portray a different character there, not Dr. Ghungroo. The makers have carefully structured Welcome 4 to ensure the return of these fan-favorite figures without overlap issues.
The franchise’s signature style will continue, emphasizing over-the-top humor through lovable, comedy-driven villains rather than menacing underworld figures. Unlike earlier entries that featured antagonists like the late Feroz Khan in the original 2007 film or Naseeruddin Shah in Welcome Back (2015), this installment plans to introduce multiple new “lovable dons” celebrated more for their comic timing and antics than any serious crime elements. Discussions are reportedly underway with prominent actors to fill these roles, maintaining the blend of humour, glamour, and high-energy action that has defined the series.

The journey began with the 2007 blockbuster Welcome, directed by Anees Bazmee, where Uday Shetty (Nana Patekar) and foster brother Majnu Bhai (Anil Kapoor) navigated chaotic schemes to arrange a marriage while concealing their criminal backgrounds. The film starred Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Mallika Sherawat, and marked Feroz Khan’s final screen appearance. Welcome Back followed in 2015, reuniting Uday, Majnu Bhai, and Dr. Ghungroo in another family-oriented mix of crime comedy and larger-than-life sequences.
