New Delhi: The recent Cannes 2025 Film Festival saw the team of Homebound, including actors Ishaan Khatter, Janhvi Kapoor, and Vishal Jethwa, showcasing their film to global acclaim. However, a viral video clip from the event sparked rumors of a rift between Dhadak co-stars Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter, prompting speculation online. In the clip, Janhvi appeared to brush off Ishaan’s hand as he offered assistance while she ascended a stage, leading some to infer tension between the two.

Vishal Jethwa, a fellow lead in Homebound, addressed the controversy in an interview , clarifying the situation. He explained that he was assisting Janhvi by holding the train of her outfit, which he found challenging to manage. Meanwhile, Janhvi was focused on holding her attire as she climbed the stage, likely explaining why she did not take Ishaan’s offered hand. Vishal emphasized the strong bond between Janhvi and Ishaan, stating, “I’ve seen Ishaan and Janhvi work together, and they are very comfortable with each other. They are well-wishers and communicate very well.” He further noted that Janhvi is highly respectful and that the Homebound team remains unbothered by the online speculation.
