The Ba***ds of Bollywood Review: Aryan Khan’s Debut is Bold, Drama and Spicy But Not Perfect

By Devansh Desai

“The Ba***ds of Bollywood ” serves up a hefty dose of drama, scandal, and classic masala in its bold behind-the-scenes take on the film industry. Helmed by Aryan Khan in his debut as a creator and backed by Red Chillies Entertainment, the show doesn’t shy away from stirring the pot even if it doesn’t always get the recipe right.

Let’s talk about that final episode. Without giving anything away, it’s a twist few will see coming chaotic, clever, and easily the most memorable part of the series. It’s the kind of bold storytelling that makes you sit up and take notice.

The series digs into all the juicy topics Bollywood gossip thrives on: drug scandals, industry politics, inflated star egos, predatory contracts, and even underworld ties. If you’re the kind of viewer who loves real-life tea and Bigg Boss-style drama, this is right up your alley. The drug officer subplot, in particular, feels ripped from recent headlines and adds a layer of gritty realism.

That said, the execution can be uneven. While the writing has its moments especially some well-placed cameos and sharp one-liners the show sometimes slips into a visual style that feels more daily soap than premium content. It’s an unexpected letdown for a project with this kind of backing.

The cast delivers solid performances across the board, with Laksh Lalwani and Raghav Juyal standing out. Aryan Khan’s personal touch is palpable you can feel the rebellion and intent—though the satirical punches don’t always land. At times, the show even contradicts itself by leaning into the very Bollywood clichés it tries to mock.

All in all, “The Ba***ds of Bollywood ” is a mixed bag. It’s fun, but inconsistent more of a guilty pleasure than a groundbreaking critique. As a first effort, it shows promise. Here’s hoping what comes next is sharper, bolder, and every bit as conversation-worthy.

Star Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ (3/5) – A bold but uneven debut that entertains without breaking new ground.
