TV Star Dipika Kakar Faces Surgery for Liver Tumour, Husband Shares Emotional Update

Mumbai: Television actress Dipika Kakar has been diagnosed with a liver tumour the size of a tennis ball, her husband, actor Shoaib Ibrahim, revealed in a recent YouTube vlog. The news has prompted an outpouring of support from fans as the couple prepares for her upcoming surgery.

In the vlog, Shoaib explained that Dipika began experiencing severe stomach pain while he was away in Chandigarh. Initially, the couple attributed the discomfort to acidity, but when the pain persisted, Dipika consulted their family doctor. After antibiotics provided temporary relief, the pain returned, leading to further tests. A CT scan revealed a tumour in the left lobe of her liver, described as being as large as a tennis ball. “It was very shocking for us,” Shoaib told, recounting the moment they received the diagnosis.

Doctors have advised Dipika to be admitted to Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai for additional tests and treatment. While initial reports indicate the tumour is non-cancerous, a critical blood test result, expected on Friday, will provide further clarity. Shoaib noted that Dipika will undergo surgery to remove the tumour, with further treatment plans to be determined after consultations with a liver specialist.

The health scare has taken an emotional toll on the couple, particularly due to concerns for their young son, Ruhaan, who is not accustomed to being separated from his mother. Shoaib expressed gratitude for the support from fans, urging them to pray for Dipika’s recovery and to avoid negativity.

Dipika, known for her role in Sasural Simar Ka, recently returned to television with Celebrity MasterChef India after a five-year hiatus. However, she had to exit the show midway due to health issues, including a prior shoulder injury and swollen lymph nodes, which required hospitalisation.

The couple also faced public scrutiny recently after Shoaib announced a new vlog while addressing their safety following a terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, where they had been vacationing. In response to the backlash, Shoaib defended their intentions, condemning the attack and clarifying their commitment to their fans.

As Dipika prepares for surgery, the couple remains hopeful, leaning on their supporters for strength during this challenging time.
