Swara Bhasker Updates X Bio Amid Controversy Over Sexuality Comments

Mumbai, August 22, 2025 – Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker has responded to social media criticism following her remarks on human sexuality and her admiration for politician Dimple Yadav. The controversy arose after a resurfaced interview with Screen, where Bhasker stated that “all humans are fundamentally bisexual” and expressed her fondness for Yadav, the wife of politician Akhilesh Yadav. The comments, made five months ago, sparked heated online debates, with some users questioning her views on sexuality while others mocked her stance.
On Friday, Bhasker addressed the backlash on X, formerly Twitter, by updating her bio to include “Girl crush advocate,” a direct nod to the ongoing discussions. Her new bio reads, “Girl crush advocate. Part time actor, full time Twitter pest. Chaos Queen. Shopping my way through the apocalypse. Free Palestine.” She accompanied the change with a lighthearted post, writing, “Thought it’s time to change the bio (giggling emoji),” and shared a screenshot defining “girl crush,” questioning the uproar with, “Honestly… what is the big deal?” The Times of India reported that her remarks in the Screen interview, where she appeared alongside her husband, politician Fahad Ahmad, suggested that heterosexuality is a culturally imposed ideology perpetuated to ensure human reproduction.
Bhasker, known for her roles in films like Raanjhanaa, is no stranger to online scrutiny. She currently stars in the reality show Pati Patni Aur Panga – Jodiyon Ka Reality Check, hosted by Munawar Faruqui and Sonali Bendre, which tests celebrity couples through engaging challenges.
