Parag Tyagi Carries On Shefali Jariwala’s Raksha Bandhan Tradition After Her Tragic Loss

In a poignant continuation of family customs, actor Parag Tyagi has stepped up to honor the memory of his late wife, Shefali Jariwala, by performing her annual Raksha Bandhan rituals. Each year, Jariwala made it a point to celebrate the festival by tying rakhis to her cherished pet dog, Simba, and members of her household staff. Following her untimely death, Tyagi has taken on this responsibility himself, ensuring the tradition endures.
Tyagi recently posted a touching video on his official Instagram account, capturing the moment he tied a rakhi to Simba and conducted an aarti for the dog. The footage also shows him extending the gesture to staff member Ram. Accompanying the video, Tyagi shared a deeply personal caption: “Pari (Shefali), you always tied rakhis to our baby Simba and our Ram. I want you to continue this through me, so today I’ve done it on your behalf for Simba and Ram. From now on, I’ll handle all your duties. I’ll love you until my last breath.”
The bond between Jariwala and YouTuber Hindustani Bhau, whose real name is Vikas Phatak, began during their time together on Bigg Boss 13. From that point, Jariwala regarded him as a brother and made it a yearly practice to tie a rakhi on him. With Jariwala no longer here, Bhau marked the occasion by tying a rakhi himself and posting an emotional message online. He wrote, “Happy Raksha Bandhan, beta. Today, I tied a rakhi in your name. Miss you.”
In the image he shared, Bhau added a reflective note: “Tie a rakhi to someone who will stand by you until your final breath.”Shefali Jariwala, widely recognized as the “Kaanta Laga” girl from her breakout music video, passed away late on the night of June 27 at the age of 42. Reports indicate that she had observed a fast that day. After breaking it with a meal in the evening, she consumed anti-aging tablets, which reportedly led to a sudden drop in her blood pressure. As of now, no official confirmation has been provided regarding the exact cause of her death.
This year’s Raksha Bandhan has thus become a moment of remembrance for those close to Jariwala, highlighting the enduring impact of her warm, inclusive approach to the festival. Tyagi’s actions, in particular, underscore a commitment to preserving her legacy through simple yet meaningful traditions, while Bhau’s tribute reflects the broader circle of affection she inspired. The gestures serve as a reminder of how personal rituals can bridge loss, keeping connections alive even in absence. As the entertainment community reflects on her contributions, these small acts of devotion offer a glimpse into the private world she left behind, marked by love for family, friends, and even pets.
