Veteran TV and Film Actor Ramakant Dayama Passes Away

Mumbai: Veteran actor Ramakant Dayama, known for his appearances in numerous popular television shows and films, passed away on May 26. The news of his untimely demise was confirmed by fellow television actress Shubhangi Latkar, who shared a heartfelt tribute on social media.

Dayama had been part of the entertainment industry for years, featuring in both small-screen productions and cinematic projects, including the acclaimed film *Chak De! India*. His colleagues and fans have expressed profound sorrow over the loss.

Shubhangi Latkar took to Instagram to announce the sad development, posting an old video of Ramakant Dayama joyfully singing and dancing with friends and co-stars. Accompanying the clip, she wrote a moving note expressing her grief and admiration for the late actor.

“Today, we lost a truly beautiful soul, and I am simply speechless. Ramakant Dayama was not just a dear friend and family friend to me, but someone I deeply admired and respected,” the post read. “Full of life, warmth, and energy, he truly knew how to enjoy life despite every challenge. A spontaneous dancer, a soulful singer, a brilliant actor, and for me, a wise advisor whose words always carried meaning.”

Latkar further highlighted his resilience, noting, “He may have looked tiny in appearance, but he was one of the strongest and most courageous people I have known. Though we all knew he had been unwell for many months, somewhere in the heart, one never stops hoping. We had so many unfinished plans.”

She recalled their plans to collaborate again: “After years, I truly wished to work with him again. We had decided to do a beautiful Hindi play together. When I requested him, he smiled and said, ‘Let me get well soon.’ We had even planned to present selected beautiful poems together on stage. That dream, too, now remains unfinished.”

Concluding her tribute, Shubhangi Latkar wrote, “Some losses leave behind a silence that words fail to express. Today feels like one of those days. You will be deeply missed, Ramakant ji. Your warmth, your courage, your art, and your beautiful spirit will always remain alive in our hearts. May your soul rest in peace.”

The cause of Ramakant Dayama’s death remains unknown at this time. Tributes from fans and members of the television and film fraternity continue to pour in as they remember his contributions and vibrant personality.
