Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban End 19-Year Marriage Amicably

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have officially concluded their 19-year marriage, with a Nashville court approving their divorce settlement on January 6, 2026.

The Oscar-winning actress, 58, filed for divorce on September 30, 2025, citing irreconcilable differences and marital difficulties. The couple had reportedly separated around September 2025, following a period of private challenges. Tennessee law requires a 90-day waiting period for divorces involving minor children, which was met in this case.

According to a report by People, Kidman and Urban mutually agreed to waive all claims to alimony and child support. Both parties will cover their own legal fees and expenses related to the proceedings. All asset divisions and custody matters were resolved privately prior to finalization.

The parenting plan designates Kidman as the primary residential parent for their two teenage daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15. The girls will live with her for 306 days per year, while Urban, also 58, will have them for the remaining 59 days, including alternate weekends from 10 a.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Both parents retain joint decision-making authority over major aspects of the children’s lives, including education, health, and welfare. The agreement emphasizes maintaining a positive environment, requiring the former couple to foster a loving and stable relationship with the children despite the divorce. It explicitly states that neither parent should speak negatively about the other and that they must encourage the daughters to sustain strong bonds with both.

Kidman and Urban met in Los Angeles in 2005 and married in Sydney, Australia, in June 2006. They welcomed Sunday in 2008 and Faith in 2010. Kidman shares two adult children from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise, which ended in 2001.
