Documentary ‘Mumbai Samachar 200 Not Out’ To Be Screened At Cannes Film Festival

Mumbai: History is going to be created today at the Cannes Film Festival as the documentary “Mumbai Samachar 200 Not Out”, made on Asia’s oldest and most trusted newspaper “Mumbai Samachar”, will be screened at the French Riviera today.

Mumbai Samachar, Asia’s oldest and still running newspaper that published the news of India’s first freedom movement in 1857, the death of Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi, India’s independence, and the birth of Congress, has now reached the “Cannes” festival and the documentary “Mumbai Samachar 200 Not Out” will be proudly screened today.

The newspaper was started by scholar Fardunji Marzban in the year 1822. The details of the then editors to the present young editor Nilesh Dave have been showcased in this documentary.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the trailer of the documentary film “Mumbai Samachar 200 Not Out” and thereafter, Union Home Minister Amit Shah released the documentary at a function held in Mumbai in September 2024. This documentary showcases information about Mumbai Samachar’s remarkable 200-year journey!
