Mahakali Teaser Out: Akshaye Khanna’s Shukracharya Declares War On The Devas

The makers of Mahakali have released an intense first extended teaser titled Shukracharya’s War Cry, offering a powerful glimpse into the mythological world of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU). Clocking nearly three minutes, the promo centres on Akshaye Khanna’s formidable portrayal of Shukracharya, the guru of the Asuras, and sets the stage for an epic clash between the forces of Dharma and Adharma.

In the teaser, Shukracharya questions the fairness of ancient events. He recalls the Samudra Manthan, where both Devas and Asuras laboured equally, yet the nectar of immortality was granted only to the gods. He further highlights how the Asuras were denied Indra’s throne and banished to the netherworld, with the gates of the fourteen realms sealed against them. Declaring that the Asuras’ victory cry will echo within fourteen days, he issues a chilling command to Raktabeej to annihilate the human race.

The dark, atmospheric visuals showcase grand scale, intricate sets, and striking VFX. Towards the end, Sriya Reddy appears as Goddess Kali in a brief yet impactful moment, feeding an infant adding an emotional and divine counterpoint to the rising darkness. Bhoomi Shetty takes on the titular role of Mahakali, while Rohit Saraf also features in the cast.

Directed by Puja Aparna Kolluru and produced by Riwaz Ramesh Duggal under RKD Studios (presented by RK Duggal), Mahakali expands the universe that began with Hanu-Man. The film is scheduled for a pan-India theatrical release on January 8, 2027, aligning with the Sankranti/Pongal festive window.

With its fierce mythological conflict and strong performances already generating buzz, the teaser successfully positions Mahakali as a high-stakes addition to Indian superhero cinema.
