Kiara Advani’s Stunning Met Gala 2025 Debut Celebrates Motherhood

Bollywood actress Kiara Advani made a striking debut at the Met Gala 2025, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, captivating attendees with a custom Gaurav Gupta ensemble that celebrated her pregnancy. The event, themed “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” with a dress code of “Tailored for You,” saw Advani proudly displaying her baby bump in a bold black gown paired with a golden breastplate, a design that symbolized motherhood and strength.

Advani’s outfit, styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania, featured a heart-shaped metallic breastplate connected to a smaller heart via a golden thread, representing the umbilical cord and the bond between mother and child. The look was completed with a flowing white train and a dramatic black-and-white cape, paying homage to the late fashion icon André Leon Talley. Advani’s ensemble resonated with the gala’s theme, blending Black dandyism with a distinctly Indian flair.

Accompanied by her husband, Sidharth Malhotra, Advani arrived in New York a day before the event. The couple, expecting their first child, drew attention for their coordinated appearance, with Malhotra supporting his wife’s momentous debut. Gaurav Gupta, a designer celebrated for dressing global stars like Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian, crafted the couture piece to reflect Advani’s personal journey, earning praise for its sculptural elegance and emotional depth.

Advani joined other Indian luminaries at the gala, including Shah Rukh Khan in Sabyasachi, Priyanka Chopra Jonas in Balmain, and Diljit Dosanjh in Prabal Gurung, as reported by The Indian Express. Her appearance marked her as the fourth Bollywood actress to grace the Met Gala’s iconic steps, following Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, and Alia Bhatt. The actress’s debut was lauded for its bold tribute to motherhood, with fans on social media admiring her radiant “pregnancy glow.”
