Ravi Teja’s latest film Irumudi is off to a promising start at the box office, and the numbers are getting better with each passing day. After a decent opening, the film picked up pace on Saturday and has now moved within touching distance of the rs 50 crore mark worldwide.
According to the latest box office estimates, Irumudi collected around rs 16.20 crore net in India on Day 2. That takes its two day India net collection to approximately rs 31.50 crore. The film’s India gross collection has reached nearly rs 36.57 crore.
The worldwide numbers are equally encouraging. Irumudi added around rs 4 crore from overseas markets on its second day, taking its overseas gross to roughly rs 10 crore. Combining the domestic and overseas business, the film has collected about rs 46.57 crore worldwide in its first two days.
That means the rs 50 crore milestone is now well within reach.
The film is being driven largely by its Telugu audience. On Saturday, the Telugu version recorded around 78% theatre occupancy, with approximately 2,840 shows contributing to its Day 2 collection. The Tamil version, meanwhile, had a much smaller share, collecting around rs 4 lakh from 103 shows.
Irumudi opened in theatres on August 21 and stars Ravi Teja in the lead, alongside Priya Bhavani Shankar and Baby Nakshathra. The film combines action with family emotions and revolves around the bond between a father and his young daughter.
The first-day collection was reported at around rs 15.30 crore net in India. While the film did not see a massive jump on Saturday, the steady increase is still a positive sign, particularly because weekend collections can play a major role in determining how a film performs during its first week.
For Ravi Teja, the next big target is obvious. With the worldwide total already hovering around rs 46.5 crore after two days, crossing rs 50 crore could happen very soon if Sunday brings another healthy turnout.
The bigger question now is whether Irumudi can maintain this pace beyond the opening weekend. A strong Sunday followed by stable weekday collections could give the film a much longer theatrical run.
For now, though, the signs are encouraging: Irumudi has made a solid start, Ravi Teja has another promising weekend on his hands, and the rs 50 crore milestone is just around the corner.
