Intruder Breaches Salman Khan’s Home Security, Rings Doorbell After Deceiving Guards

Mumbai: In a startling security lapse, two individuals separately attempted to infiltrate Bollywood star Salman Khan’s residence at Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, Mumbai, on May 19 and 20. The incidents have raised fresh concerns about the actor’s safety, given his history of receiving death threats.
The first breach occurred in the early hours of May 20 when a 32-year-old woman, identified as Isha Chhabra, gained access to the building by claiming to security personnel that she knew a resident. Instead of visiting the claimed acquaintance, she proceeded directly to Salman Khan’s apartment and rang his doorbell. The actor was reportedly at home during the incident. Security guards apprehended Chhabra near the building’s lift area and handed her over to Bandra police, who have filed a case and are continuing their investigation. Initial questioning revealed that Chhabra claims no connection to a second individual who attempted a similar breach hours earlier.
The second intruder, a man named Jitendra Kumar Singh, a 23-year-old from Chhattisgarh, entered the premises around 7:15 PM on May 20. He was detained after attempting to sneak into the complex, reportedly by hiding behind a resident’s vehicle. Mumbai police have taken him into custody, and authorities are probing whether there were any lapses in security protocols or internal assistance. Both incidents prompted the registration of two separate FIRs, as confirmed by a Bandra police official.
These breaches follow a series of threats against Khan, including a shooting incident outside Galaxy Apartments in April 2024, allegedly orchestrated by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Anmol Bishnoi, the gangster’s brother, claimed responsibility for the attack via a Facebook post. In July 2024, Khan provided a statement to Mumbai’s anti-extortion cell, asserting that the Bishnoi gang was attempting to assassinate him. He recounted hearing a “cracker-like sound” at 4:55 AM during the April incident, when two individuals on a motorcycle fired at his first-floor balcony.
Police are expected to question residents of Galaxy Apartments to determine if any recognize Chhabra or can provide further insight into the incidents. The breaches have intensified scrutiny on the effectiveness of Khan’s upgraded security measures, which include Y+ category protection and advanced surveillance systems, implemented after the April shooting.
