Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ Surges Past Rs 13 Crore in Paid Preview Bookings

Ranveer Singh’s highly anticipated action thriller Dhurandhar: The Revenge, commonly known as Dhurandhar 2, has generated impressive early momentum at the box office through its advance sales for paid premiere screenings.
According to the trade tracking website Sacnilk, the film has sold more than 1.2 lakh tickets nationwide for its preview shows, resulting in gross collections of approximately Rs 7.74 crore (excluding blocked seats). When including block bookings, the total gross reaches about Rs 13.55 crore. Reports indicate the advance bookings have crossed Rs 13 crore overall for these paid premieres, with figures close to Rs 8 crore cited in initial ticket sales updates.
The surge began swiftly after bookings opened. Within the first two hours, tickets worth around Rs 4 crore were sold, with approximately 35,000 tickets purchased through major multiplex chains including PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis. On the ticketing platform BookMyShow, the film maintained a brisk pace of roughly 7,500 tickets per hour during the early phase.

The Hindi 2D format has driven the bulk of demand, accounting for nearly Rs 7.65 crore from about 1.11 lakh tickets across more than 6,400 shows nationwide. Bookings for regional versions in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam have also started to pick up as the film gears up for a pan-India release.
Some preview screenings feature premium pricing, with tickets in select multiplexes in Delhi-NCR reaching as high as Rs 2,500.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar: The Revenge serves as the sequel to the 2025 blockbuster Dhurandhar. It stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role, supported by R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sanjay Dutt, and continues the spy-action storyline.
The paid previews are set for March 18, one day ahead of the official theatrical release on March 19, 2026. The timing aligns with festive holidays including Gudi Padwa, Ugadi, and Eid, which could further enhance its opening performance. The recent postponement of Yash’s Toxic has also freed up additional screens for this release.
With the current trajectory, trade observers suggest the paid previews alone could contribute to a strong start exceeding Rs 30 crore. Trade analyst and producer Girish Johar, speaking exclusively to Firstpost, forecasted an opening weekend collection surpassing Rs 300 crore.
The film’s ability to sustain this booking enthusiasm into its opening weekend will be key to its box office success.
