Mumbai: The romantic drama ‘Saiyaara,’ starring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has taken the box office by storm and is now poised for its digital premiere on Netflix around Diwali 2025. Following a remarkable theatrical run, the film’s makers are reportedly negotiating with the streaming giant to secure a 90-day theatrical window before its OTT release, aiming to capitalize on the festive season.

Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Yash Raj Films, ‘Saiyaara’ has emerged as a sleeper hit, defying expectations with its emotional storytelling and soulful soundtrack. The film, which hit theaters on July 18, has grossed over ₹150 crore in just six days, surpassing the performance of major releases like ‘Sikandar’ and ‘Housefull 5,’ as reported by Sacnilk. Its success is attributed to the fresh chemistry between Panday and Padda, alongside Suri’s signature narrative style.

Initially released on 800 screens, the film’s popularity led to an expansion to 2,000 screens due to overwhelming demand. This unprecedented success for a debutant-led film has drawn praise from industry peers, with stars like Anil Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, and Alia Bhatt lauding the performances of the young leads. The movie’s chart-topping music, composed by Mithoon, Sachet-Parampara, and others, has further fueled its appeal.
