“Asked for Nudes”: Akshay Kumar Recalls Daughter’s Online Gaming Scare, Urges Cyber Safety Lessons in Schools

MUMBAI: Actor Akshay Kumar on Friday recounted a disturbing incident involving his 13-year-old daughter while she was playing an online video game, underscoring the rising threat of cybercrime targeting children.
Speaking at the inauguration of Cyber Awareness Month 2025 at the Maharashtra State Police Headquarters in Mumbai, Akshay revealed that an unknown player asked his daughter to send nude photos while chatting during a game.
“I want to share a small incident that happened a few months ago. My daughter was playing an online game with a stranger. During the game, she received a message asking whether she was male or female. When she replied female, the person asked her for nude pictures. She immediately shut down the game and informed my wife,” Akshay said.
Highlighting the dangers of such online interactions, he stressed that cybercrime is growing faster than conventional street crime, making awareness crucial. The actor urged the state government to introduce a dedicated “cyber period” every week for students between classes 7 and 10, to educate them about safe practices in the digital space.
“It is very important to stop this crime. Cyber safety must become part of school education so children know how to respond in such situations,” he appealed.
The Bollywood star was joined at the event by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Director General of Police Rashmi Shukla, senior IPS officer Iqbal Singh Chahal, and actor Rani Mukerji, among others.
