The wedding of Arjun Tendulkar, son of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, to entrepreneur Saaniya Chandhok is set to take place tomorrow, drawing widespread interest as one of Mumbai’s most anticipated high-profile unions.
Saaniya Chandhok, who maintains a low public profile, is the granddaughter of renowned Mumbai industrialist Ravi Ghai. The Graviss Group, established by her grandfather, manages prominent ventures such as Kwality Ice Cream, Brooklyn Creamery, and the InterContinental Hotel in Mumbai.
She received her early schooling at prestigious institutions in Mumbai before pursuing a degree in Business Management from the London School of Economics. Driven by her affection for animals, she completed a Veterinary Technician Course, which included both classroom learning and practical training in pet care. In 2022, she established Mr Paws Pet Spa & Store in Mumbai, an upscale grooming and wellness service catering to the city’s expanding pet-owning community.
Arjun Tendulkar has forged his independent career in cricket as a left-arm pace-bowling all-rounder. He gained attention by scoring a century on his Ranji Trophy debut for Goa—a rare achievement that mirrored his father’s first-class debut milestone. Having previously featured for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, he is now slated to play for Lucknow Super Giants in the forthcoming season.
The couple’s connection dates back several years, initially as a longstanding friendship—Saaniya has been acquainted with the Tendulkar family, including Arjun’s sister Sara, for a long time. What began as friendship deepened into romance, leading to a discreet engagement in a private family ceremony in August 2025.
As the wedding approaches, the Tendulkar family has extended invitations to notable dignitaries, including President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
Pre-wedding festivities have already commenced in Mumbai, with recent events including a grand Mehendi and sangeet ceremony attended by family, close friends, and prominent figures from cricket and other spheres. Earlier, both families participated in a Ganesh puja at the Ambani family’s bungalow in Jamnagar.
The main wedding ceremony is scheduled for the evening of March 5, followed by an intimate dinner for select family members, friends, and guests.
This marriage unites two individuals from prominent backgrounds—one building a legacy in cricket, the other thriving in entrepreneurship and pet wellness—while keeping their personal journey largely private until now.
