Alia Bhatt’s Ex-Secretary Arrested For ₹77 Lakh Fraud, Forged Actor’s Signatures

Mumbai: Vedika Prakash Shetty, former secretary to Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, has been arrested for allegedly defrauding the star of ₹76.9 lakh by forging her signatures. The Juhu Police apprehended Shetty in Bengaluru on Tuesday, following a complaint filed months earlier by Bhatt’s mother, Soni Razdan.
Investigators claim Shetty siphoned funds from Bhatt’s personal accounts and her production house, Eternal Sunshine Productions Pvt. Ltd., over a span of two years. She is accused of fabricating documents and forging Bhatt’s signature to carry out the fraud.
The case was registered nearly five months ago, but Shetty had been absconding until her arrest. She was produced in court on July 8 and remanded to police custody until July 10. Charges have been filed under Sections 316(4) and 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
As of now, Alia Bhatt and her team have not issued a public statement on the matter. Investigations are ongoing.
