Mumbai: The highly anticipated trailer for the war drama 120 Bahadur, starring Farhan Akhtar, was unveiled on Thursday, offering a powerful glimpse into one of India’s most courageous last stands. Following a poignant teaser, the full trailer has intensified excitement for the film, which is set to release in theatres on November 21, 2025.
A Glimpse into Unflinching Courage
The trailer opens with the resonant voice of Amitabh Bachchan, who sets the historical stage by recounting the betrayal India felt in 1962 when its supposed “brother,” China, launched an unexpected attack. The narrative then shifts to the heart of the conflict, introducing Farhan Akhtar as Major Shaitan Singh Bhati of the 13 Kumaon Regiment. The visuals powerfully depict the immense bravery of Major Bhati and his soldiers as they face overwhelming enemy forces. His defiant declaration, “Main ladey bina haar nahi manna chahta” (“I don’t want to accept defeat without fighting”), captures the indomitable spirit of the film. The trailer also provides a brief look at Raashii Khanna, who plays Farhan’s love interest.
The 1962 Sino-Indian War
The film is based on the events of the Sino-Indian War of 1962, a border conflict fought in the treacherous Himalayan terrain. The war began with a surprise Chinese offensive in Ladakh and across the McMahon Line in what was then the North-East Frontier Agency. Indian forces were outnumbered and ill-equipped for the high-altitude warfare, yet they offered valiant resistance. The Battle of Rezang La, where the ‘C’ Company of the 13 Kumaon Regiment fought, is a legendary chapter in military history, celebrated for its extraordinary heroism against impossible odds.
