Ravindra Jadeja’s Sister Appeals For Stand In His Name At Rajkot Or Ahmedabad Stadium

Rajkot: Following the Maharashtra Cricket Association’s recent move to honor Rohit Sharma by naming a stand after him at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, Ravindra Jadeja’s sister, Naynaba Jadeja, has called for a similar tribute for her brother.

In a Facebook post, Naynaba wrote, “One of the world’s most successful all-rounders and the greatest cricketer from Saurashtra, Ravindra Jadeja deserves to have one stand named after him.”

She appealed to the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) to consider naming a stand at the SCA Stadium in Rajkot, or to the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) to do so at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera. She also urged authorities to recognize other accomplished cricketers from the state, suggesting that stands be named after Cheteshwar Pujara and Salim Durani as well.

“I am making this appeal not as the sister of a cricketer, but as a cricket lover,” Naynaba added. She emphasized that Ravindra Jadeja has inspired many young athletes and has elevated cricket in both Saurashtra and Gujarat to a new level through his performances.

Her post follows the Mumbai Cricket Association’s inauguration of four commemorative sections at Wankhede Stadium, including the newly named Rohit Sharma Stand, the Sharad Pawar Stand, the Ajit Wadekar Stand, and the MCA Office Lounge, dedicated to former MCA President Amol Kale.

Naynaba’s appeal has garnered widespread support on social media, with many fans and followers echoing the sentiment that Jadeja’s achievements warrant formal recognition within Gujarat’s cricketing arenas.
