PM Modi Boosts Troop Morale with Surprise Visit to Adampur Air Base

JALANDHAR— Prime Minister Narendra Modi made an unannounced visit to the Adampur Air Base in Punjab on Tuesday morning, engaging with Indian Air Force personnel and soldiers in a show of support amid heightened regional tensions. The strategically vital air base, located near Jalandhar, has been a focal point following recent cross-border incidents, including Pakistan’s reported attempts to target the facility during Operation Sindoor on May 9-10.

Modi, who departed from Delhi’s Palam Air Base at 7 a.m., was briefed by Air Force officials on the security situation at Adampur, one of India’s largest air bases. He met with fighter pilots and technical staff involved in recent operations, expressing gratitude for their courage and dedication. In a post on X, Modi wrote, “Earlier this morning, I went to AFS Adampur and met our brave air warriors and soldiers. It was a very special experience to be with those who epitomise courage, determination and fearlessness. India is eternally grateful to our armed forces for everything they do for our nation.”

The visit, which included a striking image of Modi waving alongside a MiG-29 jet and an intact S-400 air defense system, served as a rebuttal to Pakistan’s claims of damaging the base. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, sharing visuals of the visit on X, stated, “Fact-check for Pakistan who claims attack on Adampur Air Base. PM @narendramodi Ji interacted with our brave Jawans.🇮🇳 📍Adampur Air Base, Punjab.”

Modi’s presence underscored India’s military resilience, with the Prime Minister chanting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” alongside personnel.

Modi’s trip follows his Monday address to the nation, where he condemned the recent Pahalgam terror attack and outlined a firm anti-terrorism stance, emphasizing that dialogue with Pakistan would focus solely on terrorism and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The Adampur visit, reinforces this message, showcasing India’s readiness and boosting troop morale at a critical juncture.
