India has dismissed Pakistan’s claim that its JF-17 fighter jet damaged the Indian S-400 air defence system, calling the allegation false and part of a broader disinformation effort by Islamabad.
Speaking at a Defence Ministry briefing on Saturday, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi stated, “Pakistan claimed that it damaged our S-400 and BrahMos missile base with its JF-17, which is completely wrong.” Her remarks came shortly after New Delhi declared a ceasefire with Pakistan following heightened cross-border tensions during India’s recent Operation Sindoor.
Indian officials accused Islamabad of spreading false narratives amid the ongoing military standoff, asserting that none of India’s key defence assets, including the advanced S-400 system, were compromised.
The Ministry reaffirmed India’s operational readiness and emphasized that misinformation would not deter its defence preparedness.
