Over 300 Illegal Bangladeshi Nationals Deported From Gujarat Via Aircraft In A Covert Operation

Ahmedabad: In a major action following the Pahalgam terror attack, over 300 Bangladeshi nationals illegally residing in Gujarat have been deported in a covert operation led by state police, as per the reports. Sources confirm that the deportation was executed via an aircraft from Vadodara Air Force Station to Agartala, from where the individuals were escorted to the Bangladesh border by road.

The operation was launched after a coordinated sweep from April 27 in major cities including Ahmedabad and Surat, aimed at identifying and detaining individuals staying without valid documentation. During the operation, 800 suspects were detained in Ahmedabad and 134 in Surat. After document verification, over 200 in Ahmedabad and 90 in Surat were confirmed to be residing illegally.

Police sources revealed that the entire mission was carried out under strict confidentiality and direct supervision from the state government. The arrested individuals were moved under escort to Vadodara, from where they were flown in batches to Agartala. Private vehicles were arranged there to transfer them to the Bangladesh border.

This marks the first instance where Gujarat Police has conducted such a large-scale international deportation operation from within the state. The move is seen as part of a broader national security strategy following heightened alerts across the country in the wake of cross-border threats.

Security agencies are continuing to monitor for more illegal entrants, and sources say similar operations may be carried out in other regions if necessary.
