50-Year-Old Grandmother Marries 30-Year-Old Grandson at Temple, Leaves Behind Husband and Four Children

Just as the love story between a mother-in-law and son-in-law in Badaun was creating a stir, an even more shocking incident has emerged from Ambedkar Nagar. A 50-year-old woman married a 30-year-old man who is related to her as a grandson in a temple ceremony, abandoning her husband and four children. The incident took place in Pratap Pur Belwaria village under the Baskhari police station area of Tanda tehsil. The entire village is abuzz with discussions about this unusual love story.

Grandmother Smitten by Love for Grandson

Indrawati, a 50-year-old woman from the Dalit settlement in the village, had been involved in a long-standing love affair with Azad, a young man from her neighborhood who was related to her as a grandson. Despite the significant age gap and the familial relationship, their romance blossomed. Over time, their bond grew so strong that they decided to break societal norms and pledged to live and die together.

Husband Begins Mourning Rituals for His Wife

Deeply hurt by the incident, Indrawati’s husband, Chandrashekhar, has now considered her “dead” to him. Preparations for her funeral rites (traditionally held on the thirteenth day after death) are underway in the village. Chandrashekhar stated that his wife no longer holds any existence in his life, which is why he is conducting her funeral rites while she is still alive. This was Chandrashekhar’s second marriage. Previously, he used to work outside the village but had recently returned to farming and goat rearing to support his family locally. He never imagined that his wife would fall in love with a neighbor who was like a grandson to her. The incident has sent shockwaves through the entire area, with villagers reacting with both astonishment and gossip over the bizarre love story.
