‘Party In Jail’: Call Recording, Post Mortem Findings Put Spotlight On Lucknow Businessman’s Death

Lucknow: The death of 28 year old businessman Shiva Sharma in Lucknow has taken a new turn, with call recordings revealing tense exchanges with his girlfriend, social media influencer and makeup artist Shraddha Dubey, as police investigate allegations of murder, blackmail and physical abuse.
Sharma died on October 9 after falling from the fourth floor flat in the Hazratganj area where Dubey was reportedly living. His mother, Ranjana Sharma, has accused Dubey and others of involvement in his death. Police have registered a murder case, but the circumstances leading to the fall remain under investigation.
Post mortem report records multiple injuries
The post mortem findings have added to the questions surrounding Sharma’s death. According to a report the examination recorded 11 entries detailing external injuries and six broad categories of internal findings, including damage to both lungs, injuries to the liver and spleen, internal bleeding and a fracture of the right pelvic bone.
Doctors attributed the death to shock and haemorrhage resulting from the injuries. However, the medical findings alone do not establish whether Sharma was pushed, fell accidentally or jumped. Investigators are examining the available evidence to reconstruct what happened.
Call recording captures heated exchanges
A recording reported captures arguments between Sharma and Dubey over cigarettes, accusations of theft and a proposed party. During one exchange, Dubey is heard saying, “You will party in jail,” a remark that has drawn attention amid the ongoing investigation.
The recording provides a glimpse into the couple’s strained interactions but does not, by itself, establish responsibility for Sharma’s death.
Mother alleges blackmail and assault
In her complaint, Ranjana Sharma alleged that her son faced prolonged harassment and physical violence during the relationship. She also accused Dubey of threatening to circulate obscene videos of him and damage his reputation.
The allegations have not been established in court. Police have named Dubey, her sister Rashmi, a driver identified as Danish, an associate named Adil and others in the case, according to media reports.
Police search for accused
As of October 14, Dubey and her sister were reported to be untraceable, with investigators pursuing leads to locate them. Police are examining the circumstances of the fall alongside the family’s allegations and other available evidence. The Lucknow Police have announced a reward of Rs 25,000 each for information on Dubey and her sister.
The investigation is expected to establish the sequence of events before Sharma’s death and determine whether anyone was criminally responsible. Until evidence is tested through the legal process, the allegations against the named individuals remain accusations, not proven findings.
