PM Modi Criticise on Pahalgam Terror Attack: ‘Evil Agenda Will Never Succeed’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, currently on an official visit to Saudi Arabia, condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, pledging swift justice and reiterating India’s unwavering commitment against terrorism.

Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, Modi stated via social media, “I strongly condemn the terror attack in Pahalgam. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, and I wish a speedy recovery to the injured. Those responsible for this atrocious act will face justice. Their malicious intent will never prevail. Our determination to combat terrorism will only strengthen further.”

The attack resulted in injuries to at least 12 tourists when terrorists descended from a nearby mountain into Baisaran valley in Pahalgam and opened fire. Following the incident, Prime Minister Modi had an urgent conversation with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, instructing him to visit Jammu and Kashmir and coordinate the necessary security measures.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah assured severe action against the perpetrators and announced immediate travel to Srinagar for an urgent security review meeting. Shah expressed his distress on social media, stating, “Deeply anguished by the terror attack in Pahalgam. We are committed to ensuring severe consequences for those involved.”

Shah also briefed PM Modi and conducted a preliminary review with officials through video conferencing. A comprehensive anti-terror operation is currently underway, involving helicopters to evacuate the injured from challenging terrain. Local authorities and residents have also aided rescue efforts, transporting victims on horseback from the remote area.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah termed the incident “an abomination” and expressed deep shock and sympathy, strongly denouncing the attackers as “inhuman” and pledging full support to the victims’ families.
