
Rajkot: Over 25 children from Rajkot’s Bhawani Nagar suffered from food poisoning after consuming buttermilk distributed by the Shree Bolbala Trust. The incident was reported late at night on Thursday, April 17. The children showed symptoms such as vomiting and were rushed to the hospital for treatment. Approximately 15 of them were admitted to the city’s Padma Kunvarba Hospital. While most are in stable condition, one child has been admitted to the ICU due to the severity of his condition.
According to reports, Shree Bolbala Trust, a well-known social service organization in the city, had distributed buttermilk in the Bhawani Nagar area near Ramnath Pura. Soon after consumption, over 25 children began experiencing symptoms of food poisoning, including vomiting. Alarmed family members rushed them to the hospital.
Around 12–15 children were admitted to Padma Kunvarba Hospital in Gundawadi. While most are stable and recovering, 10-year-old Jayraj Hiteshbhai Jada, a resident of Street No. 5 in Bhawani Nagar, has been admitted to the ICU due to his serious condition. Other children currently under treatment include Jay Bambhaniya, Kishan Chawda, Dipali Shiyad, Namrata Chauhan, Hardik Bhati, Hasu Chawda, Rajvi Parmar, and others.
