New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday thanked students and young Indians for their “insightful suggestions” on examination reforms, saying their trust and feedback have strengthened the government’s resolve to build a fair, transparent and credible examination system.
In a video message shared on Instagram, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response to his earlier remarks on paper leaks, describing the suggestions received from students and youth as thoughtful and valuable. He said their participation reflects a shared commitment to improving the country’s examination process.
“I thank all of you for your love and thoughtful suggestions. Your trust inspires us to work with greater dedication,” Modi said, adding that every suggestion would encourage the government to intensify its efforts to safeguard the interests of students and ensure fairness in examinations.
The Prime Minister’s remarks came a day after he addressed growing concerns over paper leaks, calling them a serious challenge that has affected the aspirations and future of countless young people. He said the government understands the anxiety faced by students and their families whenever examination irregularities occur and remains committed to preventing such incidents.
Modi said the Centre has already initiated action against individuals and networks involved in examination malpractices. He asserted that strict measures are being taken to ensure that deserving candidates do not suffer because of the actions of a few. According to him, the government is also working with state authorities and concerned agencies to strengthen mechanisms for conducting examinations securely and transparently.
He further said the government is pushing for tougher legal and administrative measures to curb paper leaks, including the establishment of fast track courts for speedy disposal of such cases. Alongside stricter enforcement, the Centre is continuing reforms aimed at improving examination procedures, enhancing security protocols and increasing accountability across the recruitment and entrance examination system.
The issue of paper leaks has emerged as a major national concern in recent years following controversies surrounding several recruitment and entrance examinations. The incidents triggered widespread protests by students and aspirants, with many demanding stricter laws, faster investigations and greater transparency in the conduct of public examinations.
Reiterating the government’s commitment, Modi assured students that their voices are being heard and their concerns are guiding ongoing reforms. He said the government will continue to work towards making examinations more secure, transparent and credible so that every hardworking candidate gets a fair opportunity to succeed based on merit.
