Chahal’s IPL Brilliance Sparks Viral Praise from RJ Mahvash

In a stunning display of spin bowling, Yuzvendra Chahal led Punjab Kings to a historic victory against Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2025, defending the lowest-ever total of 111 in a 20-over match. The leg-spinner’s remarkable 4/28 figures dismantled KKR’s chase, resulting in their collapse to 95 all out in 15.1 overs at Mullanpur, near Chandigarh. This 16-run triumph surpassed Chennai Super Kings’ previous record of defending 116 in 2009.
Chahal’s performance earned widespread acclaim, notably from radio jockey RJ Mahvash, whose Instagram story went viral. Sharing a photo with Chahal, she captioned it, “What a talented man! Highest wicket-taker of IPL for a reason! Asambhav!” The post fueled speculation about their rumored relationship, amplifying its reach across social media.

The match saw Punjab Kings bowled out for 111 in 15.3 overs, with KKR’s Harshit Rana claiming 3/25. KKR appeared in control at 62/2 before Chahal struck, removing captain Ajinkya Rahane via a controversial lbw decision. Rahane, who scored 17, later admitted to misjudging the shot and not reviewing the call, despite ball-tracking suggesting the ball was outside off-stump. Chahal continued his dominance, dismissing Angkrish Raghuvanshi (37), Rinku Singh (stumped), and Ramandeep Singh (golden duck) in quick succession.
Glenn Maxwell supported Chahal by trapping Venkatesh Iyer lbw for seven, while Andre Russell’s late resistance featuring two sixes and a four wasn’t enough to salvage KKR’s innings. Punjab’s head coach Ricky Ponting hailed the victory as one of his finest in the IPL, noting Chahal’s resilience despite a pre-match fitness test for a shoulder injury.
Ponting praised the team’s composure, while KKR’s Rahane expressed disappointment, taking responsibility for the loss. The match, a testament to Punjab’s bowling prowess, etched Chahal’s name further into IPL lore as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker.
