Ghaziabad Horror: 7-Year-Old Raped And Murdered In Mall Basement, Probe Underway

On the intervening nights of Friday and Saturday, the body of a seven-year-old girl was discovered at an under-construction mall in Ghaziabad’s Raj Nagar Extension. Her family claims that the child was gang raped and killed after being abducted from close to her home.

According to police, the girl’s corpse was discovered in the mall at approximately one in the morning on Saturday. She was the daughter of a construction worker who had been staying close to the building site. The family had spent the last few years living close to the building site; they were originally from Bihar.

The girl vanished on Friday between 7 and 8 p.m., according to the deceased’s father. “After we began looking for her, her body was discovered in the basement of the mall that was still under construction a few hours later. We witnessed two individuals removing my daughter from the webcam”. The father stated, “We saw her dead at approximately one in the morning and called the police right away”.

She had no clothing on, and her face and head were bleeding. Her legs and arms appeared to be fractured as well. The father said, “She was raped and killed.”

In an official statement, Priyashri Pal, the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) for the Nandgram circle, stated, “The body of a seven-year-old girl was recovered from an under-construction mall in Raj Nagar Extension, according to information received at the Nandgram police station around 1am on Saturday.” A forensic team was also dispatched, and senior officials examined the crime site. A number of people have been detained for interrogation. The family has filed a complaint. An inquiry is underway.

“More discoveries will come from an autopsy. The ACP said, “An investigation is ongoing.”

After being notified, senior police officials arrived at the location, and teams also gathered evidence from the crime scene for forensic analysis. “The suspects struck her head with an iron rod,” a police officer who wished to remain anonymous stated. We are looking into it as a rape and murder case, but we are unable to determine if it is gang rape at this time. An FIR has been filed and an inquiry is underway.

At the police station, a complaint was filed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections concerning gang rape, kidnapping, murder, common intention, and provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (Pocso) Act.
