Bomb Threat to Ram Mandir Triggers Security Clampdown in Ayodhya

A heightened security alert has been enforced at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya after the temple’s managing trust received an email containing a bomb threat. The email, reportedly sent late Monday, warned of an explosion targeting the newly constructed temple.

The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust immediately informed authorities, prompting the registration of a case at Ayodhya’s cyber police station. A full-scale investigation has been launched by the cyber cell to trace the source of the email.

Mahesh Kumar, the accounts officer at the Ram Janmbhoomi Trust, formally lodged the complaint. In response, security agencies conducted a comprehensive search operation and elevated alert levels not just in Ayodhya but in nearby districts like Barabanki as well.

This threat follows a prior warning issued in November by Canada-based Khalistani extremist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu. In a video message, Pannu threatened violence at the Ram Temple around November 16–17, days before the Ram Vivah Utsav scheduled on November 18. The Ayodhya administration had ramped up security in anticipation of potential disruptions.

Speaking on the issue, Ayodhya Mayor Girish Pati Tripathi reassured the public, stating that the divine protection of Lord Hanuman safeguards the city against any such threats.

Given Ayodhya’s status as a sensitive site, the region already operates under tight security. Law enforcement officers trained in counter-terrorism are deployed throughout the city, which is closely surveilled using CCTV systems and drone technology. Security protocols are regularly reviewed and updated to prevent any untoward incidents.
