PM Modi Congratulates Trump, Americans on 250th US Independence Day, Celebrates India-US Partnership

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended greetings to US President Donald Trump and the American people on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the United States’ Independence, describing the India-US relationship as a partnership built on shared democratic values and common aspirations.

In a post on X, Prime Minister Modi said he was conveying his wishes on behalf of 1.4 billion Indians and highlighted the strong strategic ties between the two nations.

“On behalf of 1.4 billion Indians, I extend my warmest congratulations to President Trump and the people of the United States on the historic 250th anniversary of your Independence. India and the United States share more than a strategic partnership. Our shared belief in democracy, the rule of law and the limitless potential of our people makes our friendship a force for global good. May the next 250 years bring even greater prosperity, peace and progress for America and take the India-US partnership to new heights,” PM Modi wrote.

US Embassy Marks Milestone with ‘America 250’ Video

The US Embassy in India also commemorated the milestone by releasing a collaborative video as part of the “America 250” initiative.

The video highlighted the growing bilateral relationship between India and the United States. It featured Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump shaking hands during a bilateral meeting at the G7 Summit, along with a message from US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who said, “India is the world’s largest democracy, and America is the oldest.” The video also included messages from several prominent Indian personalities from the fields of sports, arts and business.
