Watch: Indians Parading Through A Canadian Store In Godly Attire

Canada: Indians entering a grocery store in Canada wearing divine Hindu attire marched through the hallways of the store. Seeing this, Indian customers started hollering chants of “Jai Shree Ram.” What was meant to be a portrayal of soft culture turned into an assertive cultural display. The video has caught many users’ eyes, and every eye perceives it differently.

Three people costumed as Lord Ram, Lord Hanuman, and Goddess Sita thought to acquire the Brampton store under the impression of capturing a heartfelt moment. But soon, it intensified with heavy chants revealing something deeper. The video shows a recreation of the traditional welcoming of Lord Ram with his beloved wife Sita, supported by heavy chants in a public place. It sparked concerns over civic etiquette, with some people expressing their concern, stating it was a senseless act, while others supported it and expressed it as a courageous announcement. The video was posted on X with the caption, “Indians take over grocery store in Brampton, Canada, and start chanting Hindu slogans. Literally everyone is Indian.”

Canada, a country in North America, is mainly dominated by immigrants, a large portion of whom are Indians; known for its rich economy, the multicultural country hosts many communities. But this act has indicated a vulnerable debate on the behaviors and manners of citizens. One user defended the act by saying, “This is just Indians shopping at an Indian grocery store in Brampton and chanting slogans, not ‘taking over’ Canada 😂 It’s their community space. Most Indians there succeed big: highest median incomes, dominating tech & medicine, low crime. Normal cultural expression ≠ invasion. Stop the racist panic.” Meanwhile, others compared the moment to Easter and Christmas celebrations. However, a few users disagreed with the purpose of the act and felt ashamed to recognize them as belonging to the same community.

Immigration to Canada severely dropped in 2025 after a decade. In its 2026-2028 Immigration Levels Plan last year, Canada promised to bring “a return to sustainable immigration levels,” according to the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The goal is to reduce Canada’s temporary population to less than five percent of the total population by the end of 2027. Targets for new temporary resident arrivals have been set at 385,000 in 2026, 370,000 in 2027, and 2028.

While government measures will take time, citizens should self-reflect and prevent themselves from exposing themselves in such a manner.
