Vasundhara Raje Slams Officials Over Water Woes in Jhalawar

Kota: Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has strongly criticized district officials over a worsening drinking water crisis in Jhalawar. During her recent visit to the area, the two-time CM expressed serious concerns after locals complained about the acute shortage of drinking water.

Raje, who represents the Jhalrapatan constituency, questioned the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission in the district. “The Prime Minister allocated ₹42,000 crore for the Jal Jeevan Mission. What happened to Jhalawar’s portion of the funds?” she asked while addressing officials.

Taking to social media platform X, Raje accused officials of mismanagement and inaction. “Our government is providing money to solve the crisis, but officials are failing in execution. If this is the condition in April, what will happen in June and July?” she posted.

She also stated that officials failed to provide clear answers when asked about the situation. “Don’t test the patience of the people. This will not be tolerated in Jhalawar,” Raje warned.

Raje went on to accuse officials of being indifferent to the public’s suffering. “Only officials seem to have access to water while the public suffers in this heat. The schemes look good only on paper. I will not let this continue,” she added.

However, local Congress leaders dismissed her remarks, calling them a political stunt. Nand Singh Rathore, president of Congress Sevadal in Jhalawar, alleged that most local officials, including the district collector, SP, engineers, and contractors, are closely associated with Raje.
