Uttar Pradesh Celebrates Jain Roots: CM Adityanath Promotes Spiritual Values

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath underscored the state’s deep ties to Jainism during a major event on World Navkar Mahamantra Day at the Sangeet Natak Akademi in Gomti Nagar on Wednesday. Calling Uttar Pradesh a sacred land of Jain Tirthankaras, he highlighted its historical significance, noting that Lord Rishabhdev and four other Tirthankaras were born in Ayodhya, with another in Kashi. Organized by the Jain International Trade Organization (JITO), the gathering focused on fostering peace and positivity through the Navkar Mantra.
Adityanath urged citizens to adopt Jainism’s teachings, particularly non-violence and compassion, in their daily lives. He praised the Navkar Mantra as a tool for liberation from suffering and referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s video message, which offered nine resolutions inspired by the mantra. “These are worth embracing,” he said, extending greetings for Lord Mahavir Jayanti and emphasizing the Tirthankaras’ timeless dedication to humanity’s welfare.
The Chief Minister hailed the event as a historic global celebration of World Navkar Mahamantra Day, expressing hope that it would inspire widespread embrace of peace and harmony. He concluded by encouraging all Indians to draw inspiration from Jain values, reinforcing their relevance today
