Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan To Visit India, Hold Meeting With  PM Modi & S Jaishankar

New Delhi: Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of the UAE, has commenced a two-day official visit to India starting Tuesday. The visit, at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marks Sheikh Hamdan’s first official trip to India as Crown Prince. Accompanying him is a delegation of senior ministers, government officials, and business leaders.

Prime Minister Modi will host a working lunch for Sheikh Hamdan on Tuesday in New Delhi. Additionally, the Crown Prince will hold discussions with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh during his stay in the capital.

On Wednesday, Sheikh Hamdan will travel to Mumbai to participate in a business roundtable with leading figures from both nations. This engagement aims to bolster economic and commercial ties between India and the UAE across traditional sectors and emerging industries.

The Ministry of External Affairs emphasized Dubai’s longstanding role in fostering cultural, commercial, and people-to-people connections between India and the UAE. With nearly 4.3 million Indians residing in the UAE, most of whom live in Dubai, the visit is expected to further strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations.

The invitation for this visit was extended by Dr. S. Jaishankar during his January trip to the UAE, where he met Sheikh Hamdan and discussed enhancing bilateral relations across various domains such as trade, technology, and defense.
