Srinagar Hotel Lift Collapse Injures 6 Bengaluru Tourists

Srinagar: Six tourists from Bengaluru sustained injuries after a lift malfunction at a hotel in Srinagar, according to a report by Deccan Chronicle. The incident occurred in the Hyderpora locality, where the group was staying during their visit to Jammu and Kashmir.

As per officials cited in the report, the mishap took place when the lift inside the hotel suddenly collapsed, leading to injuries among all six occupants. Authorities responded promptly, and the injured tourists were immediately shifted to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

Officials stated that the victims were taken to the Bone and Joint Hospital in Barzullah, where they underwent medical evaluation and care. Initial reports indicated that none of the injuries were life-threatening, and all six individuals were in stable condition while receiving treatment. 

The circumstances surrounding the lift failure are currently under examination. Authorities have begun assessing the cause of the incident, including possible technical faults or maintenance-related issues. However, no official confirmation regarding the exact reason for the collapse has been released so far.

The accident has raised concerns about safety standards in hospitality establishments, particularly in popular tourist destinations like Srinagar.
