Director Atlee and Wife Priya Welcome Their Second Child

Chennai: Renowned filmmaker Atlee and his wife Priya Atlee announced on Monday the arrival of their baby girl, bringing delight to the family that already includes their son, Meer.
The couple shared the heartwarming news through social media. Atlee posted simply, “Feeling blessed,” alongside a charming poster featuring a drawing by their son Meer. The illustration carried the cheerful message: “Yay! I’ve got a baby sister!” The poster further stated, “We, Priya and Atlee, are blessed with a baby girl. April 20th, 2026.”
This marks the second child for the pair, who had earlier welcomed son Meer. The announcement comes as Atlee remains actively engaged in his professional commitments.
On the filmmaking front, Atlee is currently directing his upcoming project Raaka, which stars Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. The film is being produced by Sun Pictures.
Recently, on Allu Arjun’s 44th birthday, the makers unveiled the actor’s first look from the movie—an intense close-up portraying him with a bald, rugged appearance, his face partially obscured by what resembles a wolf’s claw, evoking a primal and warrior-like presence.
When Sun Pictures formally announced the project last year, it highlighted the involvement of world-class technical experts. The production house released a video clip in which several renowned technicians shared their impressions of the script.
VFX supervisor James Madigan, known for his work on films such as Iron Man 2 and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, remarked, “I just got done reading the script, and I got to say, my head is still spinning.”
The clip also featured Allu Arjun conversing with Mike Elizalde, president of Spectral Motion, who commented, “The script is seriously unlike anything I’ve ever read. It is the best of the best of what I would ever want to create.”
Academy Award winner Justin Raleigh, artistic director and CEO of Fractured FX, expressed enthusiasm: “Reading through it (the script), very excited about all the creature potential. All the different character potential.”
William Wright Anderson, co-owner of Lola VFX, added, “I cannot wait to be a part of this. I can’t wait to see what his vision does. The story is unbelievable.”
The makers have positioned Raaka as a film with universal appeal.
